Khumbu Valley Trek

  • Group Size : 4 to 14 people
  • Elevation : Up to 5,140m
  • Start From : Kathmandu, Nepal
  • Start on : From Apr 01 to Jun 02, 2024

The Khumbu valley, one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Nepal, is famous for its awe-inspiring mountain peaks and the warmth and hospitality of its inhabitants. It is part of the Solukhumbu district in north-eastern Nepal and is most well known for Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world (8848m) and for two other 8000m peaks in the region, Cho Oyu and Lhotse.

The Khumbu valley trek is a lodge trek that goes through several villages scattered all over the Khumbu valley, the most well-known of them are Namche Bazaar and Gokyo. Namche Bazaar is an idyllic, bustling tourist village inhabited by Sherpas who have learned to strike the perfect balance between preserving their local culture and embracing foreign cultures. Gokyo is a tiny village that lies at the foot of the Gokyo Ri peak and is one of the highest human settlements in the world. The trek also includes a hike to the Gokyo Ri peak (5360m) from where you have the majestic view of five 8000+ peaks: Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Cho oyu. Perched precariously atop a high ridge, the Tengboche Monastry is a leading Buddhist center and boasts spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Amadablam.
